Shrinkvivor Challenge – Week 1

Since last weigh-in: ugh, don’t ask.
Overall: -21.4 lbs

The Shrinking Jeans folks are having another challenge, and boy do I need it. Look at my last entry…yeah, it was in May. My biking has actually been on track all year – and I even succeeded in my quest to do a 50-mile ride (more on that on my non-weight-loss blog: Holy Crap, We did it!!!). My eating, however, has not been on track.

In fact, I have biked nearly 1000 miles since April (between the stationary and real bikes), and have **gained** weight since the end of the last challenge I participated in. So mad at myself.

Here’s the deal, though. I need to stop being mad at myself for something I can’t go back and change. The real question is: what am I going to do about it now? I’m going to join the Shrinkvivor challenge and pay more attention to what I’m putting in my mouth and help Tribe Pink kick some ass.

To that end, I weighed in this morning…I’m up from the end of the last challenge, by a lot. During this 6-week challenge, I’m going to get rid of those pesky pounds, and hopefully a few more.

Goals for the week: Continue the EA Sports Active More Workouts 6-week challenge (I just did workout number 5 last night!); start tracking what I eat. I’m not going to put restrictions on what I eat this week, but I just want to get back in the habit that if it goes in my mouth, it goes in the food journal (on my phone). Often that’s enough to help me eat less crap.

    HOLY WOW on the mileage, Barb!! DAMN!!! I’m so impressed!
    I know how you feel though. While I trained for the 1/2 marathon, I planned to LOSE, but I didn’t. I actually gained and it sucked. Now I’m training again, but I’m being much more mindful of what I put into my mouth. Just because I’m running like there’s no tomorrow, doesn’t mean I can eat like it.
